Behind the Zines trailer

We are over halfway through our first series of Behind the Zines zine readings and we still have so many more amazing queer readings to come. Thanks to all our amazing readers so far. Here’s a trailer with more of what’s to come in future episodes of Behind the Zines.

We lost our funding when our summer tour was cancelled and so we pay each zine maker £50 from our personal funds to share their zines with us. If you’re enjoying our Behind the Zines series of queer zine readings then please do consider supporting the zine makers here:

All funds collected will be shared with our participating zine makers. Some zine makers have also declined payments for their readings and so their payments along with any additional donations will be donated to the wonderful Outside Project.

What started as a small way to make a few selected zines accessible when one of our tour dates was cancelled has now developed into a much bigger programme, allowing zines in the library to be explored and heard beyond their physical pages. Hearing a zine maker read their zines in their own voices feels powerful and inspiring and we are so grateful to this amazing lineup of queer zine makers sharing their ideas with us.

We still have 6 more episodes left in this series and we’ll be prepping a second series of readings later in the year. Please do consider donating to support this series if you have the funds, and if you don’t have the funds then please do watch and share and signal boost the work of these zine makers where you can.
